What kind of writing do students learn in high school?
I'm going to be tutoring a middle school student in writing, to prepare him for high school. What are some things we should focus on? Narratives? Persuasive essays? ???
I think the best thing is to improve his writing skills and encourage him to express his thoughts nicely on paper and work on his vocabulary. once he gets into high school his teachers will introduce those different writing styles and different essay methods and all that. just encourage him to read widely, to practice using new vocabulary in his sentence constructions and that way he will improve his writing.
