Do you feel that it is easy to write songs? Can anyone be creative? A song is the end product produced by stimulating your song writing powers in many different ways. Let's take a look!
Here are some tips on how to stimulate and develop your song writing abilities:
Listen
An obvious tips of course! You have to listen to songs to find and develop your taste. But don't just listen to the music you usually listen to. Listen to things you don't normally hear on the radio. It will help your unconscious to create more interesting songs.
I recall that John or Paul in the Beatles talked about the music they heard on the radio when they were young. The radio channels in those days played many different types of music and they were inspired by the melodies heard on the radio like evergreens, jazz, folk music and classical music and so on.
On commercial radio channels nowadays you'll often find very niched music but I think it is important to find music that differs a lot from your normal taste. All these musical ideas will hopefully mold into interesting new melody lines. A form of fusion music.
Chord progressions
Sit down with your guitar or at your piano just playing chords that loosely seem to fit together. Don't worry about the quality of your progressions. It is important to have moments when you play without evaluating things, otherwise you will not dare to take the step into the unknown.
Song melodies
Humming melodies as you play chords on your guitar or piano in a relaxed manner will stimulate your creative powers. If you find it hard to improvise melodies, it might comfort you to know that it is a talent but also a skill that can be dveloped by practice. It can become a form of meditation that will clear your mind, stimulate your imagination and improvisational skills.
Lyrics
Well, what do you expect me to write here? Right, humming melodies with nonsense lyrics is a great way to stimulate and actually write a song. Nonsense lyrics might not be the apropriate term as every word you sing can trigger ideas that will lead you to a phrase that might be the beginning of a great song.
Documentation
A very boring and bureaucratic word indeed but somehow you have to find a way to remember all nice words and melodies. A recording device like an mp3-player, mobile, digital recorder or tape recorder might do. The simpler the better. You can of course do as I do, write sheet music and lyrics on scrap paper. However, this requires you to know sheet music notation unless you have invented your own notational system.
Using a computer
Personally I have discovered the advantage of using a word processor at this final stage of creating the song lyrics. I usually write down the text with a font size that will fill a printed page. This makes it easy to see the text on the screen and taste the lyrics with my heart.
This might sound a little weird but I guess that you want the listener to feel the same as you feel when you sing the song. You have to be touched by you own song first.
When you have the lyrics on your computer you can change a word here, a word there and and read the words over and over. One day you will realize that the song is complete and you can relax and be proud over your creation.
A song is not a song until it is sung
Well, this means that you have to give your song a chance to shine by singing it, working on your way to perform it and learning it by heart. By singing a song often, even in front of other people, it will most likely mature and the performance will develop and convey the message of the song better and better.

My Original Song "I Wanted to Write a Song for You" by Myself Nichole337
An Introduction to Writing Songs for Film and Television
My name is Aaron Davison. I've been writing songs for over fifteen years. I attended Berklee College of Music in the mid 1990's where I majored in Songwriting. It was during my time at Berklee that I was first introduced to the concept of writing songs for film and television as a career. Although at the time I was mildly intrigued by the possibility of this career path, it wasn't until eight years later that I decided to seriously entertain the idea. At this point I had played in a variety of bands and had still yet to achieve my elusive goal of becoming a rock star. One day while surfing the Internet I came across an article about a Berklee Alum who made a living, in part, writing songs for Film and Television. This article inspired me to make a serious effort to pursue the craft of writing music for Film and Television. I realized that during all the time I had spent chasing my dreams of rock and roll stardom I had passed over many more attainable goals that could have helped me make a living doing what I love to do most, playing music. I also realized that accomplishing these goals would probably actually get me closer to where I wanted to be. Within six months of reading the article I had signed my first licensing deal with a publisher.
The first time I heard my music on Television was truly one of the most exciting moments of my life! After years of writing songs, taking guitar lessons and playing in bands, my music had, in an instant, been heard all over the world. It's hard to explain just how thrilling it is to see something you've invested so much hard work and passion in pay off. And beside the emotional high of hearing my music on Television I was also thrilled when a few months later I received a check for over $800.00 - for 55 seconds of airtime! Like I said, I didn't really start out with the goal of writing music for Film and Television, but I've always had the goal of getting my music heard and getting paid for it. Thanks to many different placements over the last few years, I've been able to accomplish both of these goals.
Why Your Music Is Needed If you've never paid attention to the background music used on television shows before, start listening! Music is a huge part of both TV shows and Films. It's used to enhance scenes and story lines. It's easy to ignore if you're not actively listening for it - even as a musician. But it's everywhere. Commercials, TV Shows, Video Games, Films, Websites and other mediums all use music as an important part of their presentation.
Much of the music that is used comes from independent musicians. Songwriters like you. The reason for this is that well known songs come with hefty licensing fees. It can cost tens of thousands of dollars to license a well known song. This is why many music supervisors turn to independent music as a cost effective way to use music in their productions. Depending on the production and budget, independent music is often used in lieu of "hit" songs. This provides a great opportunity for the independent musician looking to get started in the music industry. Think of it as the "minor leagues" of the music industry.
Aaron Davison is a Berklee College of Music Alumnus who has been working in the music licensing business for six years. His songs have been featured on several national television shows.

The differences between writing for a magazine and newspaper can be explained quite simply – while the latter tends to focus on the news of the day, the former is more concerned with ‘features’ and editorial content.
Put in a simpler context, the restraints surrounding the newspaper journalist are far tighter than those writing for the magazine. This can easily be seen by comparing the two – pick up a daily newspaper and a weekly magazine of a specific genre, and you will see immediately how the styles, subjects and content differ.
Further differences apply in the deadlines required for submitted work. A newspaper that is a daily will undoubtedly want work submitted very quickly and for a print deadline that is vital, whereas a magazine will have something of a longer deadline to its submissions.
There are differences, too, in the requirements not just from journalists – the regular reporters – but from the columnists who write for the publications. If you are looking for work with local publications you may be investigating the possibility of writing a regular column for a newspaper or magazine.
In local newspapers these tend to take the form of reviews or of comment on local issues, and can be a stepping stone to greater things. Where magazines are concerned there is less of a wide open door, for the local press tends to be geared towards the weekly newspaper.
However, if your speciality is in a particular specific area – something you are familiar with and knowledgeable about – then you may wish to investigate the possibility of becoming a columnist for a magazine that publishes in that area. There are options for this, but the trick is to make sure you understand the sometimes strict application and submission requirements – these can be obtained from the offices of the publication itself.
Despite the advent of the internet the stories of the demise of print are farfetched; both the newspaper and magazine columnist have a long life ahead of them.

Today as radio comes out a great place for advertisement and promoting your products. Companies spent lot of money to promoter their products. Jingles are the only way on the radio to promote your products. The jingle had no definitive debut: its infiltration of the radio was more of an evolutionary process than a sudden innovation. Product advertisements with a musical tilt can be traced back to 1923, around the same time commercial radio came to the public.
We always give least importance to radio advertising but from a research it has been proved that radio ads are among the strongest medium that can sell things. In the harsh realities of today's marketplace a great ad jingle can be a surefire way to crank your service and slogan to a wider audience and get your company some respect. So, what makes an advertising jingle unique? Before you lay down your valuable funds to an established jingle production company (or even to your brother Doug's grunge band) there are many ideas you should carefully research in order to make your new advertising music as effective as it's ever going to be.
A Good jingle should have the following qualities.
Humor
Outstanding music
Understand the audience
Never lie
Use a single message
Intergrate a jingle to your camoaign
Reward the Audience
Following are some useful key point.
Branding is key: plan on beginning your new advertising endeavor with a full vocal edit of your jingle and then use a different version once your jingle has been in the marketplace long enough to stick in your potential customers' heads.
The jingles are usually composed by professionals. Since jingles are important components of the ad campaign, a lot of care is taken to ensure that only a very high quality advertising jingle is produced.
Be on alert with jingle makers that charge renewal fees. A good jingle can have a years-long shelf life, so look for a company that can provide full buyouts, or long-term licensing contracts.
It's not suitable just to demand that your jingle be "modern." Contemplate where you will be advertising. Ask yourself: will your easy listening style jingle find its target audience if used in a AOR format? Contemplate your music style options carefully.
The key to successful branding is really in your own hands. Wal-Mart didn't get to be the powerhouse we know today because of a smiley-face. It was because Sam Walton jumped in his truck every morning and set out to find the best deals on anything he could and used all his disposable resources to make his branding efforts true in the eyes of the consumers. Therefore it's your job as a manager/ business owner to engrain this message into the minds of your customers. The team members in your organization also play a critical role in developing your brand because once you have marketed yourself as the leader in one aspect of your business; you must make everyone within your organization believe it first. This may not be as easy as it sounds. You must constantly remind all members of the organization that you are all collectively the best and the only way to do that is by being honest in your branding. BE the best and everyone will know it.

Can you imagine a world without music? No songs, no tunes, no rock, no roll, no jazz, no hymns, no boogie-woogie, no country-western, no symphonies. No singing in the shower. No whistling Dixie.
Lovers wouldn't have songs to romance to. There would be no such thing as "our song." Sinatra couldn't fly to the moon. Elvis couldn't complain about people stepping on his blue suede shoes. Tony Bennett would have to write a letter about how he left his heart in San Francisco. Willie might go on the road again, but without a guitar. And Ray Charles would look pretty strange up on stage without a piano telling us that Georgia is on his mind.
Then when the wedding day arrived, what would the bride march down the isle to? A poem? Silence? Applause? And when the happy couple marched out of the church together, would they do it to the bark of neighborhood dogs, or perhaps all the wedding guests talking at once?
And at the reception, what would they dance to? The Funky Chicken just isn't the same without music. Since rhythm is part of music, no drums would even be allowed.
And the honeymoon I suppose would take place with radio news on, or perhaps the educational channel accompanied by the drone of an air-conditioner.
When baby arrives, do we lull her to sleep with a reading from Shakespeare? Or perhaps random readings from the dictionary or encyclopedia? Could we bore her to sleep with words?
Nursery rhymes would have to be chanted or recited instead of sung. School music programs would of course be non-existent, as would school choirs and orchestras and bands. When the school football team plays, there would be no school fight song. Cheerleaders would have to cheer and dance minus any music.
And when those birthdays roll around, we would have to all recite together in a monotone "happy birthday to you."
And when duty calls, what would soldiers march to? What would take the place of music in parades, since there would be no marching bands? John Philip Sousa would have had to get a day job.
And on the 4th of July there would be no patriotic songs - just speeches. At Christmas time there would be no Christmas carols. No rousing gospel music at Easter, no hymns in church.
And can you imagine radio without music? Nothing but news and talk shows and bla bla bla bla....
I don't know about you, but I've had it up to here just thinking about it. I'm heading for the piano now to celebrate the fact that our Creator gave us the wonderful and inspiring and uplifting gift of music that we all take for granted.
I think I'll play a nursery rhyme or two, then the wedding march, then Silent Night, then Auld Lang Syne, then Fur Elise, then the blues, then a little jazz, then...and then...
What Jobs are Available to Culinary Institute Graduates
Most students judge the value of an education by the impact it will have on their future. In other words, before committing to a degree program, real people first want to know what kind of jobs this degree will help them obtain. Getting your education from a culinary institute opens the doors to a wide variety of jobs, several of which are listed below.
Fast food, short order, and other basic cook positions
There are an amazing number of cook positions available in the food service industry. These jobs range from, on the low end, cooks at fast food and low cost restaurants, to the high end, which includes the chefs at more prestigious establishments. Although many of the low end chef positions are available to unskilled laborers, the higher the quality of the food prepared, and the higher the chef's income, the greater the demand for educated cooks. A degree from a culinary institute can help you meet that demand, and help you land a higher end job.
Head chef
The position of head chef is a perfect place for someone with leadership skills, who enjoys having a little more responsibility in the workplace. As head chef, you will have more control over menu selections, preparation styles and ingredients, and other aspects of the culinary arts.
Private chef
Many people find working as a private chef to an individual family or a small institution is preferable in several different ways. First, the atmosphere a private chef encounters is typically very different than an employee in a bustling commercial kitchen. Also, private chefs tend to have an easier time selecting food choices, as they have the needs and preferences of only a few people to consider.
Menu planners and test kitchen chefs
Menus don't make themselves up. A lot of preparation goes into planning even the simplest of menus, and many culinary businesses hire specialists to handle the job. Menu planners do exactly what you might think, which is to plan out a menu. Test kitchen chefs come up with the recipes for dishes the restaurant will offer.
Food marketing
Advertising requires yet another food specialist, in this case, a person known as a food stylist. A food stylist is responsible for preparing photogenic food, meals and desserts that will photograph well and entice customers to buy them. Other positions in food advertising may require the food marketer to design visual advertising layouts, prepare slogans and jingles, and handle other steps of the marketing process.
Management of the culinary arts
If you consider yourself to be extremely ambitious, this might be just the job for you. Look for a culinary institute that offers a bachelor's program in management of a culinary business; such a program will combine the typical associate's degree in the culinary arts with a curriculum that teaches upper level management skills.
Food writer
Not all jobs in the culinary arts have to do with the preparation of the food. Some culinary careers deal with other aspects of the field. A good example is a food writer. Food writers come in many varieties: some review restaurants or write about different cuisines, while others write recipe or how to books. Regardless of what facet of food a writer specializes in, an education from a culinary institute helps by verifying that the writer really knows what he or she is talking about.
These are only a few of the most common positions available to graduates of a culinary institute. A culinary degree allows career goers plenty of flexibility when entering the work force or changing careers, making a cooking school an ideal place to start from when seeking a new or improved career.

Cry Baby Musical Tickets are Getting Attention on Broadway!
Cry Baby musical tickets will set your heart soaring in March 2008 at a theatre near you. The musical had its premiere last year from November 6 to December 16 at the La Jolla Playhouse.
“Cry Baby” is a musical on Broadway that’s based on a movie by John Waters in 1990 that was released under the same name. The movie starred a young Johnny Depp, along with Iggy Pop and Ricki Lake. The Broadway musical version of this movie is directed by Mark Brokaw and choreographed by Rob Ashford.
Mark Brokaw has directed many hit Broadway shows, including “The Constant Wife,” “Reckless,” and “How I Learned to Drive” for Vineyard Theatre Production, which won him a Drama Desk Award. Choreographer Rob Ashford has to his credit a Tony Award for the Broadway hit “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and Tony nominations for “The Wedding Singer” and “Curtains.”
The show is a spoof of 1950s movies. The sets take you back to 1954 Baltimore. Here, Wade “Cry Baby” Walker is one of the bad guys of the town. He falls head over heels with a local girl who hails from a good and respectable family. The story features a book by Thomas Meehan and Mark O’Donnell, plus a score given by David Javerbaum as well as Adam Schlesinger.
Although the story has the same typical bad-boy-falls-for-the-good-girl plot; yet there’s something in the musical that draws audience in large numbers. Perhaps, it’s the star cast and their stunning performance, or maybe the way the entire story unfolds in front of the audience. Whatever may be the case; “Cry Baby” musical tickets are selling fast and in huge numbers.
As you watch “Cry Baby”, you remember “Grease,” the record-breaking musical on Broadway. You cannot forget the rock’n’roll teens, their ill-tempered parents, and the life of two lovers in the 1950s.
Although when you get Cry Baby musical tickets, the show is deprived of the talent of Harvey Fierstein, it does contain the creativity of Broadway’s most trustworthy “weapon” – Thomas Meehan! In 1970s, Meehan had taken a break from writing humor briefs for a New York magazine in order to pen down a book for “Annie.” Later, he went on churning books for “The Producers” and “Hairspray.” He also has to his credit “Young Frankenstein.” And now, with “Cry Baby”, he’s all set to conquer the hearts of hundreds of more theatre fans.
So, if you’re interested in reading the rebellious mind of Waters, watch the Broadway version of “Cry Baby.” This musical has everything that a theatre fan looks for in a show – a typical plot, a famous writer, a talented director, a creative star cast, and a houseful box office!
It’s wiser to call a number to book your tickets through ticketing services. You can also order online and request for home delivery of tickets.
If you want to know what happens to the bad guy and the good girl then purchase some Cry Baby musical tickets, act fast and book your seats. Time is running out. So hurry! About the Author

Bible Music Writer ~ MusicFromGod.com ~ Part 1 of 3
Do you intend to write song lyrics? Just like when composing any written output, you need to make sure you use the right words in the right measure to fit specific melodies or tunes. It could be a really challenging and difficult task. That is the reason why many composers and songwriters tend to collaborate with lyricists to produce songs for commercial releases. Some music composers are good in creating melodies but not in writing lyrics.
Of course, writing song lyrics involve using words in a language strategically and creatively. Lyrics are not just written to express message. It has never been that simple. There are many factors to consider like the theme and of course the measure of tunes. That is why you could notice that most songs have lyrics and rhymes that are consistent in number of syllables.
Here are several tips that could help you write song lyrics more effectively.
1. Do not adhere to limitations brought about by rhyming. It is imperative and effective that last words in lines, particularly in the same stanzas, rhyme. Doing so makes lyrics catchy and memorable. Rhyming is to many the hardest part of lyrics writing. It could take so much time and effort to come up with song lyrics with rhyming words. It is also hard to find and use rhyming words that are making good sense and are complying with specific themes and subjects.
2. Try to assume the mood you aim to project in your song. Lyrics are words that should convey messages and affect moods and behaviors of people. Because of this, lyrics directly tell stories or convince listeners to adopt behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. If you aim to make people fall in love, use romantic words and themes.
3. Do not set specific time and venues for writing song lyrics. Words are not forced out from your mind. You might not actually like it, but song lyrics sometimes pop up immediately at unexpected times of the day, while you are in an inspiring place. That is why keeping a small journal or notebook for listing those thoughts is imperative and advisable.
4. Stick to a single topic all throughout a song. Treat song lyrics like actual writing of compositions or telling of stories. If you are talking about love, it is not appropriate to also talk about religion, studies, environment, and other unrelated subjects. You should not unintentionally arouse confusion among listeners. Tell them a single subject or theme.
5. Use your actual past experiences when narrating stories through your lyrics. Getting more personal with listeners is a key to effectively touching their emotions.
6. Be persistent and avoid easily giving up especially during times you actually could not write any song lyrics. As mentioned, lyrics and words could not be forced out of your mind, but it tends to come out naturally, especially when you are inspired. Motivation and inspiration are essential to coming out with thought- and emotions-provoking song lyrics. They are the secrets of the best lyricists.
