An Easy-To-Follow Essay Writing System

If you have ever wondered if there is a system about how to write essays easily, the answer is “yes”.  In fact, there are several methods and techniques about how to write an essay and there are tons of essay examples posted on the Internet.  If you think that this statement is a little bit confusing, we can say that essay writing techniques can provide you with the perfect tools to know how to write an essay but first you must choose which right method is for you.  After that, essay writing will be a common academic task for you.

First, essay examples can provide you with the basic tools to start building your essay.  Secondly, you will need more than examples to write a good essay.  Your first task is to divide the different parts of the process such as searching for information, some inspiration, organization of ideas, writing, and editing.  Then, prepare a draft with some sentences, which contain your thesis.  Make a short list with references and definitions.  After that, build the structure of your essay including the three main parts: introduction, body, and conclusion.

Remember that the paragraphs, which will be part of the body, must contain information from true sources.  Then, work on each individual part.  Design the three components of your essay separately.  Next, join it with good connectors and short phrases.  After finishing your essay, you must edit it by correcting spelling, grammar structures, and cohesion.  Writing an essay requires a certain level of literature tools.

In addition, it is necessary to be informed on the topic you are going to write about. The basics of writing consist of using all the tools we know in a simple way. The technique of writing an essay is based on how you will present your ideas. Despite the content, all essays must be developed in a coherent manner.

In the academic universe, an essay is a powerful tool to evaluate students’ knowledge and their writing skills.  Naturally, if you can convince your readers about your arguments with your essay, you will obtain an extra merit. The capability of articulating the content of an essay is the key for essay writing.  On the other, if you write a good essay, your readers will enjoy reading it. So, once you have finished writing your essay, you can try it with a reader. His or her opinion will be useful to make the corresponding changes.

There are as many writing techniques as teachers in the world!  Therefore read and study.  Then, you will be able to prepare your own how to write an essay theory.  Essay writing can be more difficult for those who do not like reading, so your essay examples can help them.  For instance, you can post your essay examples in a blog.

How to write an essay can be an exciting experience, so take advantage of this opportunity and enjoy essay writing.  For all you know you may enjoy essay writing in the end.

Assess Your Novel-Writing Progress With These Four Questions

You have to check the status of your novel now and again during the writing process---things do go wrong, after all. Consider the halfway mark a good point to take a breather, get out a notebook, and do a quick assessment of what you've done so far.

Mid-point assessment is NOT the time to start rewriting, though. Not even if you've gone tearing off in the wrong direction somewhere down the line. Assessment is a thinking step (and a taking-notes step), not revision. Four questions will help you determine the course of your story, and whether you're getting what you want from it so far or not. So, notebook in hand, ask yourself these questions:

First...are you having any fun?

I'm absolutely serious about this question. Writers in the middle of their novels frequently slide into this 'grit-teeth-and-grind-forward' mode that kills their spontaneity, makes writing miserable, and allows them to do huge amounts of really bad work before stopping to realize they've gone off in the wrong direction. Writing is NOT the job that's supposed to suck. Jamming ahead while hating life is as sign that your book went over a cliff somewhere and you missed the crash.

If your story is heading where it ought to be, you'll be having fun---even if the writing is a lot of work. You'll be excited about the twists and turns you're coming up with, you'll love your characters and what they're doing, you'll have to quell the urge to show off or read important passages to unsuspecting family members. This is the way you want the writing to feel. If you've taken a wrong turn, on the other hand, the writing is going to feel like drudgery---like punishment. If it ever feels like punishment, stop right away. Something has gone wrong with the story.

Second, does your Sentence still work?

(I talked about The Sentence, which is a tool you use to define your story, in a previous article.) If the book you're writing still fits the concepts, characters, and twist in your Sentence, go on to the next question.

If it doesn't, you're either going to have to figure out how to make the book fit The Sentence, or how to rewrite The Sentence to fit the book. If you're still passionate about your original concepts and characters, figure out where you've gone wrong in the story. If you love your new direction, figure out via The Sentence what these changes you've made will mean to your bigger picture.

Third, are your characters the people you want them to be?

They don't have to be carrying out your orders like little clockwork automatons, but they do need to be working, not sitting around the pool drinking tea and sneering at you whenever you try to put them into a scene. There are ways of dealing with problem characters---but first, you have to recognize that you have a problem, and that they're it.

Finally, how's your plot holding up?

My students generally use my plot card technique---plot cards allow you to be flexible, to move things around, to toss cards that no longer lie along the path your story is taking. But you shouldn't have to toss them all. And every plot card should make sense in relation to every other plot card, and the whole should add up to a complete story. If they don't---if your book has somehow become a series of unrelated incidents, it's time to go back to plot cards and figure out what you've missed, and how to fit it in.

At this point, you're probably wondering why you don't just go ahead and make the changes you see you're going to have to make. The answer is simple, though a bit strange.

You're not finished yet, and any revisions you do halfway through may have to be tossed when the second half of the story takes an unexpected turn.

For now, mark out problem areas, figure out workable fixes you can make when you're done, and then get back to writing, knowing that everything is fixable. Just not yet fixed.

You can do this.

The sweat your assets - Windows Troubleshooting and optimizing PC performance

Times are uncertain - what you really need the upgrade or new PC?

Our clients and potential clients often come to us and ask us or suggest improvements or brand new PC will solve your current nightmare with a PC failure aging. It's amazing how sometimes the conversation and understanding of the needs and problems experienced by income shows that in fact they already have the PC still only has a couple of laps around the circuit on the left in his weary frame. In this article we will explain how to diagnose your performance issues, speeding up and set up. You'd be surprised how much more you can get what you have.

Tip: Before making any major system changes, as some of these are its wise to take a backup or system restore point before each change. Then if they later find something is "broken" can restore it back to a configuration previous work.

Analyze the problem before implementing the solution ...

Use regular monitoring tools - To acquire the habit of seeing the Task Manager and the pursuit of tasks and processes that are hogging memory or CPU system. Screens task managers, both in the process view as shown below, you may also order by clicking the column headings. Even if you only use the Internet and email both of these applications are recognized by loss of memory and processor bound loops (for a discussion of these problems in the next section).

Monitor free disk space - make sure you have at least 20% of disk space, preferably 30% or more should be free. If not the system struggles to operate files as you need some space to allocate and free operating system files and applications required while in use. Imagine entering a room full of boxes and have to order them all in color, in a room of 70% of its capacity to have 30% free space to put things temporarily while moving around other things in a room filled to 99% may have no space at all for use as temporary storage. Use our front end to reduce the consumption of disk space by removing unused programs installed or disk space is cheap these days with 1TB in less than 100 pounds, update your record.

New Software provided uses more memory - Finally, if you need an update to the one that makes the biggest difference in 80% of cases is simply to add more memory. RAM is now cheap enough and you should consider to be the minimum 2GB of RAM is handy to have installed. Every time I try to double or upgrade is unlikely really notice the difference. In 32-bit systems there are few advantages of having more than 3 GB of memory, but generally it makes sense to upgrade to 4 GB due to size memory kits available. If you need more than 4 GB will also have to upgrade to an operating system 64-bit. You can see the memory used by the Administrator consulting task, ctrl-alt-del which has an option to start the task manager.

In a typical example of 2 GB of physical memory installed, of which approximately 1 GB available, although the windows we are a bit misleading, since here always ensure that some memory remains available or simply stop working. So do not look for 0 free memory available as an indicator that you need more, never be allowed to reach 0 as windows a process of sharing out the paging file to free up more memory. 1.11GB memory is not currently consumed (in the paging file "PF use ', Commit Charge - Total). The paging file virtual memory is actually on the disk as tasks become active and inactive that can be exchanged in and out of memory in the paging file, therefore, that pause sometimes when switching to another task that the disk is accessed to bring it back out of the paging file. The activity in the paging file and virtual memory is complex and I will not go more than that here, as they will not help with performance problems. The key point to remember is whether Windows is changing the memory page file on the disk, then your system is going much slower as you can be sure no matter how fast the disk is which is much slower than physical memory.

What matters most to the activity in real physical memory and the point where it could destroy it and page file becomes more active, thus slowing down the system. Crucial Commit Charge peak must balance the available physical memory otherwise means a lot Page file sharing is going on (known as "page errors"). If the yellow line in the page file usage history would bounce, or worse just continues to grow.

Adjust total page file size - Following the previous point if the size your system paging file is too small the system will slow down or even fail to start the work (usually with a system message that tell the computer is out of memory). You can check this by looking at the total paging file size according to the maximum. If they are close to each other then you need to increase your paging file size. With most Windows default settings of this happens automatically.

The exotic world of deadlocks, loops and Cartesian products - are all jargon that are essentially programming errors (though not always). The application programmer or product you are using (and that includes those who take for granted like Windows and device drivers) have probably made a mistake in the design or implementation code so that logically can never exceed a certain point in its execution. The consequence of poorly designed code may be that the processor cycles used in this "loop" use all available resources of your PC (check your task manager, what process is using 99-100% of processor!? O not only "answer"). You will be notified if the machine suddenly lock-up, the dead go slow, or the application in question simply will crash. Fortunately with hanging multi-core PC is a minor problem as other free nuclei can be used to remove the task of taking your PC back to life ...

Run simultaneously as a few tasks you need - every time you open a task to remember every one uses a bit more memory. If memory or processing power is limited, try to keep open only what you need and do not regulate what you do not have much time to reopen, and if it does it probably means you have too many open Now Also bear in mind just because you can not see an application does not mean it is not using up the processing cycles, it will. All applications events process that could be the activity of the system, emails sent / received, daily alarms go, keyboard and mouse movements, activity external devices such as printers and USB drives. Also monitor the activity in the background, even when you are not doing anything with them. This consumes more of these valuable clock cycles ...

Typical solutions to address or consider

To install and remove any unused software - Take a look at your Control Panel Add / Remove Programs icon and scroll through the list of installed applications line by line. If you do not need or use it remove it. It can take up valuable space on your machine or cycles.

Disable Windows Defender - For users of Vista is a series of characteristics Windows again that if you are an experienced PC user who understands how to roam the Internet or e-mail and download files safely is not necessary. Windows Defender and Firewall are such services, if you have a third or a router firewall more than likely they just do not need this service enabled. To disable Windows Defender, visit the Administrative Tools control> panel -> Services - windows defender> and stop the service, bringing it to disabled or manual does not restart on reboot.

Disable UAC (User Access Control) - For Windows XP users experienced this property has won a thousand surveys as the most annoying new feature. Each time you run anything that affects the configuration or system files (which is almost everything you might want to do that is useful!), a modal popup window asks whether you want the transaction to proceed. Again, in practice its meaning in their experience and expertise with Windows, inexperienced users should probably leave as otherwise you'll have to disable it. To disable access control for users, go to User Control Panel-> Account-> turn user account control off. You can also disable the program msconfig.exe in the Tools tab, or directly in the registry.

Optmise Windows GUI - Windows Vista Premium and above has a default Aero user interface enabled, it uses the 3D capabilities of the graphics card and levels of some precious CPU cycles. Unless you like the new look of interface does not hesitate to reduce the load on your processor and memory and turn it off. To optimize the configuration system for maximum performance, go to control panel performance information-> tools-> advanced tools-> adjust the appearance and performance of Windows-> Select Adjust for best performance radio button and click Apply.

Remove Startup Programs - A lot of applications installed nicely on your machine to boot and drop into the tools of the system tray on your machine boots or, or as you enter depending on how you configured. Almost none of these programs really need and that are only installed in this way to save on time for implementation in the first place (as they are already in memory, in theory). Our recommendations are to remove all programs to reduce startup time, reduce the memory overhead and improve overall system performance. You can change the startup programs using msconfig.exe or directly in the registry with regedit command (modify the record carefully!). Our recommendation is that you use msconfig.exe (photo below, the version of Windows XP) and scroll through the list of disabling startup programs anything you know you do not use or need to start at boot / login. In the registry find the startup programs in Computer-> HKEY_CURRENT_USER-> Software-> Microsoft-> Windows-> CurrentVersion-> Run. In Windows XP, you can delete ALL the startup programs without the terminal, you have to be a little more careful with Vista.

(AV) - Anti-virus programs are known to reduce system performance and increasing drive disk load. Take a long and careful look at the configuration of your AV product and turn off any exploration or intervention is not necessary, outside any complementary tool, and any duplication of instruments such as double-checking spam, etc. Usually AV should be treated as a second line of defense behind the firewall. You are really only likely to get a virus from outside the safe area is "on your PC, unless you are in the habit of writing his own. So a viral attack is only likely to come from a software download, a rogue installation diskette or CD, or a malicious browser add Internet. Some dealers fear have led us to believe that the virus is creeping in the cables and are installed on your PC, do not, only installed from the outside and only then, if you let them.

For this protection to all you need to virus scan incoming email is, the input software installed from removable media (CD, DVD, USB, eSATA, Firewire, Blu-Ray, floppy, etc..) It is recommended to disable automatic scheduled scans, these are real pigs of the system and must be fully unnecessary if all the entry analysis are functioning as it should be. Instead of manually choose for yourself when you want a full system scan just in case that something was lost, as it entered minimalist We like AV tools that only do simple jobs well and nothing more. A good antivirus should be like good children, good to know you have it, but invisible and unobtrusive.

Disable unnecessary services - Your system might have a lot of services you may not need. But identifying them may not be easy. Open control panel> administrative tools-> and stop / disable services. Some of the services should be disabled are Windows Search, Windows Defender, Windows CardSpace, and usually a number of third-party tools such as HP print manager, Adobe tools, Real player, MSN, Google Toolbar, Antivirus control panels, etc.

Windows Search Index - A sometimes difficult because the speed of things, but sometimes it can slow things down. In theory, only runs when the computer is inactive, but we found that it is not always the case and may also consume network bandwidth sharing. We suggest you disable the Windows Search indexing and that can improve performance considerably, especially if you have a new system and spent a considerable amount of system resources index generation. However, once the indices are constructed will reduce the time to find files with a file search (if you do both?) Considerably. Therefore, if something you do many things that you should turn it off while using the PC and then turn it back on when you're done and just leave it on. Windows Search only then happily create indexes in the background while the computer is idle. Over time you will have a fully loaded rate and you can not leave it so that the index automatically maintained.

Defragment the hard drive - perhaps one of the oldest tricks in the book. How to install, uninstall and move PC files on your file groups and parts of the files are distributed throughout the disc surface. Over time this gets worse and worse, more and more fragmented. Every time I read a disk file disk head must reposition the collection of all these different fragments that file access slows dramatically. The ideal scenario is to have all contiguous files, without fragmentation, and have the files used throughout the center of the disc to minimize the average time of head movement (seek time). The analysis tool for defragmentation and then defragments the disk to you and is available on the Tools tab of the properties disk option (Right click on the disk, select Properties). It is necessary to defragment every two or three months, more often if you are installing and reinstalling a lot programs and files. It's a good idea to run Error Check (also on the Tools tab) and close all the tasks and many services as possible before defragmentation. Open files in use or can not move ...

Check for BIOS updates - For BIOS experience overclocker updates are very simple, and usually fix the holes in performance or problems with the motherboard. For most users are recommended if you BIOS has no known problems then do not update it. Anyway to close all programs before flashing a BIOS update, flash the BIOS if not interrupted, or is corrupted (and you will be surprised how easy this can happen!) then your PC will be dead and will have a new BIOS chip.

Tickets chipset and operating system upgrades - often new drivers or Windows updates can speed things up a little or a lot. Windows Update is a blessing and a curse. With Vista, they are now able to do all the updates to the Windows Update tool, including many third-party drivers. Our recommendation usual to leave it in automatic, but sometimes a new update may introduce instability or worse. If this occurs return to the last restore point. If you are an advanced user experience, we recommend running Windows Update manually and carefully select the updates you know are comfortable with or know needs.

Easy to boost performance - Vista ReadyBoost feature lets you connect a USB flash drive or a flash memory card and use its available capacity for caching frequently used files, increasing the file system cache in main memory. Although slower than main memory Flash memory is a lot faster than the hard drive and speed up the general file access significantly. Even fairly large Flash drives are very cheap.

Restart regularly - Even large companies and government data centers have a regular system reboot to clear down the processes that have been memory running for a while and refresh their memory operating systems and programming status. Any problems with outdated resources or processes is compounded for possible memory leaks and memory fragmentation occurs over time (what happens in the same way as discs can get fragmented). If you find your PC is becoming slower and slower the further to the left as you probably have some runaway process or processes eating up memory or cycles and can kill or restart processes the whole machine. If you are monitoring the process and memory utilization as discussed above may have noticed this happening. If it is a deep problem Windows that is causing a performance problem with time, then it is unlikely to be able to diagnose and fix only one reboot. Generally you should look to restart your PC at least once a week. We do not restart critical desktops and servers every day, our tests of long-term performance can for a month without stopping, without rebooting the system. In the latter case using a stripped down build of Windows that we have verified as stable for at least a month. Remember Hibernate or Standy stops are NOT a reboot, shutdown or restart itself. Preferably do a cold reset and change completely closing and leaving for 10 minutes before lighting. This also reset the BIOS and all PC hardware.

Would You Like To Write Classified Ads That Make Money Online

Copyright (c) 2009 Bob Tracz

Classified ads are an effective and low cost way to start and grow any business.

These small, relatively inexpensive ads, give the beginner an opportunity to advertise his product or service without losing his shirt if the ad doesn't pull or the people don't break his door down with demands for his product.

Classified ads are written according to all the advertising rules. Classified ads say as much as larger space ads on in fewer words.

To start learning how to write good classified ads, study classified ads from different mail order type publications or online. Follow the Google adword format. That format forces you to write good copy..

Analyze each of these ads: How has the writer attracted your attention - why does the ad hold your interest - does it grab you so you want to learn more - and finally, what action must you take? Are all of these points covered in the ad? How strongly are you "turned on" by each of these ads?

Rate these ads on a scale of one to ten, with ten being the best according to the formula I've given you. In fact, every ad you see from now on, quickly analyze it, and rate it somewhere on your scale. If you'll practice this exercise on a regular basis, you'll soon be able to quickly recognize the "Power Points" of any ad you see, and know within your own mind whether an ad is good, bad or otherwise, and what makes it so.

Rewrite the best ads for an hour a day so get the flow. Get the "feel" for writing classified ads.

Pick ads you consider bad and break out those pencils, erasers and scratch paper - and start rewriting these ads to include the missing elements.

For a month practise writing these ten ads.

Once you're satisfied that the ads you've rewritten are perfect, go back into each ad and cross out the words that can be eliminated without detracting from the ad.

EXAMPLE CLASSIFIED AD: Save on your food bills! Reduced prices on every shelf in the store! Stock up now while supplies are complete! Come on in today, to Jerry's Family Supermarkets!

EDITED FOR PUBLICATION: Save on Food! Everything bargain priced! Limited Supplies! Hurry! Jerry's Markets!

It takes dedicated and regular practice, but you can do it. Understand the formula - practice reading and writing the good ones - and rewriting the bad ones to make them better. Practice, and keep at it, over and over, every day - until this style of writing becomes ingrained into you. This is the ONLY WAY to gain expertise in writing good classified ads.

How to Make Yourself Write - Tips and Tricks

All writers, graduate students, and professors know that they're supposed to write on a daily basis, or at least as frequently as possible. (If you aren't aware of this fact, read this article on my site: http://WriteDaily.notlong.com.) Despite this knowledge, most find it difficult to maintain a regular writing habit.

I'm frequently asked for tips on how to make yourself write, even when you don't feel like it (which for many, is most of the time!)

What is the One Way That's Guaranteed to Work?

Sorry! There's no one correct method. And what works for you now may not work at some other time.

So I've listed a bunch of ideas below. Just pick what feels right for you, tweak it if necessary, and see what works!

How to Write Right Now

1. Start with right now. Don't beat yourself up about what you didn't do yesterday. Don't think about how much you have to do by Friday or next month. Just do what you need to do at this very moment.

2. Change your writing format. If you're used to typing, try longhand. This can be very freeing. Or print out your previous writing, and cut and paste it onto index cards in order to organize your thinking.

3. Remove yourself from all normal temptations, such as email and telephones. You can combine this with the previous tip. I notice that I get a lot done when I'm on a plane or in a waiting room. I have a notebook with me, and I start jotting down my thoughts, and sometimes I'm more prolific than when I'm in front of my laptop!

4. Use a timer. When you turn it on, you know that you can't do anything else but write. No email, no Internet, no phone. The upside is that you know that when the timer goes off, you can stop writing, and do more enjoyable activities. Try setting the timer for short periods of time and then taking a break; say 30 minutes on and 10 minutes off. You can use the timer to time your breaks, also.

5. Sign up for my newsletter and receive the "Academic Writer's Block Wizard." Pull it out and use it when you're stuck!

How to Set Up a Regular Writing Habit

1. Always write first thing in the morning, before showering or reading the paper (caffeine optional.) If you're not a morning person, pick another regular time.

2. At the end of each writing session, make a note as to what you will start with next time.

3. Have a special place where you always write. Set it up with everything you need, and if possible, don't use this space for other purposes.

4. Focus on the amount of time spent writing (or trying to write!) Don't focus on number or words, paragraphs or pages produced. What counts is the regular habit of thinking. Some days will be fruitful and others won't. It all counts as long as you put the time in.

5. Track your progress. This might take the form of an ongoing chart that shows how much you've written daily, a journal, or a graph. One creative client of mine has developed a nice technique. Whenever she sits down to write, she lights a candle. This is a signal that she is not "allowed" to do anything but work on her writing. A nice touch is that she's saved all the matches that she's used to light these "writing candles." The matches show her how much work she's actually put into writing.

6. Put writing time into your calendar or daytimer as if it were an appointment. When others ask if you're busy then, you can honestly say, "Yes."

7. Keep a running list of points that you want to cover in your work. It doesn't have to be an elaborate outline. Then when you're stuck, you can go to your list. It feels good to check each item off as you cover it.

8. Find a writing buddy. Agree that you will each write at the same time each day. You can make this a more firm agreement by calling, writing, or instant messaging each other before or after you work.

Try one or more of these techniques - I'm sure one will be helpful. Just remember that the most important step is sitting down to write!

A List of Suggested Things for Inclusion in a Dissertation Proposal

Dissertation proposals are mostly dependent on the subject field that we are interested to research. We can propose a subject under business, education, computer technology or social studies. It does not really matter what we have to discuss but we should be sure about having a good subject proposal in which we feel confident to write in detail. A dissertation proposal needs to have a quality outline before we send it to our professor. Some required parts can be learned by simply looking at sample outlines of some essay writings

In it’s most basic form a dissertation proposal contains

1. Introduction

2. Thesis Statement

3. Research Method

4. Experimental Design (if applicable)

5. Results Discussion

6. Conclusion

These parts are all the most basic parts of dissertation writing. And they all represent a single segment for the entire research document. If we talk about a dissertation proposal in detail the above parts all can be enhanced. A dissertation proposal should be made very carefully incorporating all essential parts. As once a proposal is sent to the authority for approval it is checked for all possible mistakes. And this why if a dissertation proposal is perfectly made it will always have a great impact and will be approved.

There is a definite requirement of certain things that go within a dissertation document all items should be followed in a sequence. Dissertations should comply with these guidelines. A dissertation proposal comprises of the following.:
________________________________________
An Abstract is the first major part of a dissertation proposal An abstract should be reflective and must have familiarity with present issues related to the dissertation topic.
________________________________________
Table of Contents A dissertation help should incorporate a complete table of content list. Essentially, a table of contents for the proposal lists all of the elements A table of content should be double spaced between entries.
________________________________________
Chapter I. Introduction is also known as the Statement of the Problem. The introduction should describe the nature and purpose of the study in a dissertation proposal.
________________________________________
Chapter 2. Review of the Literature and Research Questions. A review of literature concerns the main topic and places the custom dissertation in context of research conducted previously.
________________________________________
Chapter 3. Methodology. The methodology is an integral part of a dissertation proposal and describes in detail how the study will be conducted. The methodology chapter is divided into labeled sub-sections.
________________________________________
Chapter 4 Results. The results section in a dissertation proposal summarizes data collected with details and statistical support. After briefly stating main results or findings of the study, the data should be reported with sufficient detail in order to justify the conclusions. Tables and illustrations can be for numerical data.
________________________________________
Chapter 5 Discussion. In a dissertation proposal all results should be summarized, evaluated, and interpreted with respect to the original research problem question. In this section,

References. References are listed at the end of the dissertation proposal
________________________________________
Appendices. The appendices section must begin with its own cover page, followed by an exclusive table of contents page.

Home Computer Repair - Do It Yourself?

Home computer repair is not brain surgery! Most computer repairs can be broken down into two specific areas, software and hardware. Now I do admit that in some people's hand, a screwdriver can be a dangerous object. But if you can change a light bulb without shocking yourself, I'd bet you could swap out a computer part. Software gets a little trickier but is still within the grasp of most computer users.

I've been involved in computer repair in one way or another for over 25 years. The three major repairs I get called for on a weekly basis are:

Spyware/Malware Issues
Hardware failure (power supplies, hard drives, and ram usually)
Computer boot problems (lost password, toasted OS, hardware failure)

All of these can be quite a challenge depending on the value and risk of losing important data, which can be anything from tax records to photos. Any computer can be repaired; it just depends on time and budget. But not all data can be rescued. If a hard drive suffers a catastrophic hardware failure, data recovery is doubtful (unless you want spend 100's if not 1000's of dollars for special services).

So the best scenario in any home computer repair solution is have a good backup of your important data before you start any repair. I never work on anything for over an hour without immediately backing it up on another media (USB thumb drives are only about $30 for up to 5 gigs of storage and CD or DVD prices are under a buck). I learned the hard way very early in my computer using experience. It's much easier to deal with any home computer repair if you don't have to worry about important data. *Please, backup your data right after you finish this article and start doing it on regular basis.

When you have a secure backup, the home computer repair is a matter of a little investigative work (to determine the real issue - sometimes Windows will point you in the wrong direction) and coming up with a good solution. Let's look at the best way to prevent each of the three most common computer repairs and if you already have the problem, some possible solutions.

Spyware/Malware - Two good preventive measures to eliminate Spyware and Malware is to keep your OS (normally Windows) up to date on security patches from your friends at Microsoft. This is pretty easy to do if you turn on Automatic Updating in your Security Center (go to Control Panel, click on Security Center, then check that Automatic Updates is turned on). The other is to make sure you have a good Anti-Virus software installed and it gets updated automatically. These two programs give you about a 93% solution.

Another 5% can be addressed with Anti-Spyware software such as Windows Defender (free from Microsoft, just do a search for it on your choice of Search Engine) or Spybot, a free program from www.spybot.info that does a good job too. Where's the last 2%, well there is no 100% solution I'm sorry to say. Although common sense on where you surf, what email you open, and where you click can generally keep you safe.

What if you are already infected? Well, there are manual ways of removing Spyware/Malware programs but they aren't pretty and involve a whole lot of searching around and rebooting in safe mode. If you search on the offender (normally most have a common problem) you can find a manual solution. If you would rather skip all that hassle, the most effective commercial program I've seen is SpySweeper. Last time I looked it was only $30 per year and could save you a lot of time and pain. You can find it here: www.webroot.com

Hardware Failure - OK, not a lot of prevention available for this home computer repair. Keep in mind that most modern computer components have a 3-5 year mean failure rate. Depending on how much you use or leave your computer on each day, this time period can expand. I have several testing computers that are very old (plus 7 years) that don't get used often.

But one point I do want to make is that almost every customer I call on for a hardware failure issues had warning signs before the final crash. Strange noises, computer freezing up, frequent re-starts, etc. are causes for alarm. Don't wait until the computer literally dies, if any of these events start occurring, go to the proactive mode and replace the power supply, hard drive, or ram. Which one? That's a challenge, I've found that some diagnostic programs can be helpful, but a lot of the time it's experience.

Basic rules of thumb; Freezing, rebooting can be both flaky power supply and RAM going bad. Power supplies slowly loose ability to supply enough wattage, so if you run fine for the first 30 minutes that's another tip it could be the power supply. RAM just gets flaky due to constant heating and cooling. It will usually start dying slowly too. Both are cheap to replace but the power supply has anywhere from 8 to 10 plugs you get to keep an eye on when changing out. Any power supply above 250 watt will be fine for most computers, 300 watt is better. Match the power supply or RAM exactly or look up the motherboard requirements if you want to jump up in speed or wattage.

On hard drives, boot failure with the message "no operating system" or similar is almost always a controller or hard drive (some hard drives have controllers on them that go south too). When you go to save or copy files and get an error can also indicate a hard drive issue. Noises of any kind coming from your computer can only be the power supply fan or hard drive. Sometimes you can low level format a drive and bring it back but with the cost being so low on new hard drives, why take a chance.

Boot Up Problems - Number one offender is Windows of any flavor. All versions use a "registry" to manage all software, user, and hardware settings. This is just a fancy database of settings but can easily destroy itself. Open files don't close properly when there's a software problem and there goes the database integrity. When you go to reboot, the registry is not readable or flat gone. In Windows XP, there are several files involved in the "hive" (5 to be exact). Any one of these can toast itself, but I always replace all five since they are so interdependent on settings.

The easiest fix, if you can access the Recovery Console, is to find a usable set of back up files and copy them to the current area of access. This sounds pretty simple but the directory structure is fairly long and you have to unhide the backup locations. If you go to Microsoft's knowledge base here you can read all about the Recovery Console and how to replace registry files: http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 .

You can run the Recovery Console from Windows XP if it is installed or from your install CD if not. But what if you don't have an install CD (many computers manufacturers don't provide one anymore)? You can always use a bootable CD with an NTFS write enabled OS (like Linux) and do the same copying of files recommended in the Recover Console information. If that sounds too scary, you can always borrow some friends Windows XP install CD of the same flavor (Home or Pro) to use Recovery Console. OK, no friends have an install CD and no access or desire to Linux CD, now what?

Well, plan B is to take your hard drive out of the computer, change the little connector on the back of the hard drive to slave (most hard drives have instructions right on the case to show how), and connect it to a working Windows XP computer. Now you have access to the drive with an NTFS write enabled OS. Go back to the instructions on Recovery Console fix and get after it.

If the hard drive won't even light up or spin, well then you get to install a new one. Most of the new units have a CD that will handle all the details of adding the new hard drive. Then you get to use your Recovery CDs from the manufacturer to install the all the original software on the new hard drive. Don't have the restore disks? Check with the computer manufacturer and they'll sell you a set for under $20 usually. Make sure you give the exact model number to get the right software for your unit. Whenever I buy a new computer, if I don't get a set of recovery CDs, I order them right then and there. That way I'm ready for what ever happens.

So, now you have the basics on home computer repair for the three most common problems. It's not that hard for most people, just take it slow and read the instructions. Push comes to shove, find a friend who may have a little more experience to help. You buy the pizza and they provide a little experience and moral support.

Effective Article Writing for Internet Marketers

Effective and targeted articles are a simple, low-cost way of informing readers and driving high quality traffic to your website. It is also a long forgotten art of communicating ideas over the Internet due to the overwhelming amount of spam and misdirection found in the majority of written pieces nowadays; specially regarding Internet marketers and the online business industry.

As simple of a reason as it may seem, writing an effective article can become a turning point for most Internet marketers’ businesses today, simply because of the ever growing lack of content and desire to inform shown by most writers and entrepreneurs out there. Actually, a concise and informative article will quickly stand out from the pack and give its author an edge over his/her industry colleagues on the Internet when done with the proper effort and consistency.

Behind every single effective article we find four basic things:

1. Correct keywords and keyword phrases - it is very important for your internet marketing article to contain keywords that are related to your website, since 75% of the traffic on the Internet today, goes through search engines.

2. Proper keyword density - when done correctly, it will cause different search engines to acknowledge the article’s presence on the web. A piece of writing should have between 1-7% keyword density, so if you are writing a 400 word article, then you should be aiming for a maximum of 28 keywords in total. Be careful not to over-do this to avoid been penalized.

3. Good content - an effective article provides useful information, is well written and also entertains readers. It should also include facts and statistics whenever possible to gain its author credibility.

4. Correct bio / resource box - this is one of the most important things for all active Internet marketers when it comes to article writing. It is basically the small 4 line paragraph at the end of the article where you include two sentences about you and why you brought the reader to your piece of written information, together with an unhidden link to your website or business opportunity.

Your next step is to get your creative juices going, and there are a number of ways for Internet marketers to achieve this:

-Always carry a diary or journal with you - you never know when you will hear, see or smell something that will trigger your creativity.

-Create an organized workspace - this allows you to have a constant flow of ideas when writing. Use pictures you like or your favorite fragrance for a nice finishing touch.

-Be relaxed - take care of any pending issues that might need your immediate attention before writing. This will allow you to think clearly from the start.

Once those aspects are sorted out, marketers should create an outline for their article. This means writing 4 or 5 subheadings under which you will develop your effective article creating an intuitive beginning, middle and end writing structure. This will not only apply to articles, but to videos, blogging and virtually every other method they use to get their message and points across to their targeted market.

There are also a number of formatting specifications to writing effectively:

-Articles should contain short and inspiring paragraphs.
-Internet marketers should always include number or bullet points to communicate ideas clearly.
-Inspire curiosity in readers by using an attention-grabbing title and by breaking up the text with subheadings.

Applying these techniques will avoid big and tiring blocks of text and keep readers interested from start to finish.

On the other hand, there are a couple of things you should avoid when writing on the Internet:

1. Blatantly promoting yourself and not informing - The only immediate benefit for readers is to get informed. Share true knowledge in your article and visits to your website will be a by-product.

2. Not taking full advantage of the promotional opportunities offered by an article - Internet marketers should use keywords and anchor text strategically throughout the article, reaching their audience with branded and quality information without exception.

Keeping these two points in mind, will avoid you setbacks in the process of writing and build a trustworthy image to readers on the Internet.

So there you have it my fellow Internet marketers, you now possess the blueprint and knowledge to creating and writing an effective article on the net. Always remember to plan the work and work the plan consistently; day in day out, week after week and YOU WILL be writing concise and informative articles in no time.

Practice makes the master! Understand that, remain focused and get writing!

To your success.
