How to Write Resume: How to Begin the Write a Resume?
Starting your resume can seem like a daunting knowledge but it doesn't have to be. Remember that you can make deviations to it once you get something on paper and can rework it as you see fit. When you are designing your resume you want to make it the most vigorous statement that you can about yourself. Sure you want to write a resume to strengthen the importance of your strong points that make your resume stand out from the most others.
So, you want to know how to write a resume? Here is a step-by-step chaperon to get you answer of this question now. You can use a worksheet or just a paper piece to resume writing. Be sure to assemble your own particular key shards of facts. First, gather the info that you'll need to begin. This include work history (including dates), schooling, skills, proficiency, qualifications, offices you belong to and any special successes or encouragements you has been awarded that speak about to the job. Build with as much information as feasible.
As you write your resume you'll filter out what items you don't need. When you have gaps in your employment history you can use a setup that is less fixated on dates and more persistent on achievements. It is always best to start with as much knowledge as achievable. The Writers Bureau Writing Course Helped Get Me Published
My assigned tutor on the Writers Bureau Home Study Course recommended I focus my writing on two areas of which I have experience. I am almost half-way through the course and have been published three times. Two of those pieces in print were on subjects in the area that my tutor recommended I should centre on.
I enrolled on the Writers Bureau creative writing Course a few years ago and I have never regretted my decision. The home study course covers many different aspects of creative writing, from how to break into print with readers’ letters and fillers (mini articles), through to planning and writing a novel. You are taught how to research a publication, then to correctly structure and present an article to its editorial team. Advice on how to sell your writing is provided and there’s guidance on legal issues like copyright.
The course is made up of 18 written assignments which are drawn from 26 study modules. Students are assigned a tutor who will mark submitted work and return it with suggestions, comments and any necessary amendments. Throughout the course, the tutors are constructive in their criticism, which in the early stages is mild so as not to damage the aspiring writer’s confidence. However as you progress, the tutors will tell it like it is - well, mine does!
If your assignment is deemed suitable for your target market and is of a publishable standard, the tutor will recommend that you submit it to your chosen publication.
One of my recent submissions was made up of three different pieces of work. My tutor disliked the first one and pointed out where it could have been improved. She complemented the construction of the second piece, but felt its subject may have been slightly out of date with current affairs. The final article was the best of the three and the recommendation was that I submit it for publication as soon as possible. I followed her advice and my work was published as a double page spread in an industry leading monthly journal.
Students of the Writers Bureau Creative Writing Course are urged to write every day - even if only for a few minutes. Skills improve with practice, therefore to get the full benefit of the course; students are encouraged to be consistent in submitting their assignments. This is, possibly, why the Writers Bureau has implemented a time limit of four years to finish the course.
There have been times when I was unable to write as often as I would’ve liked and this provided for a feeling of disappointment. I even stopped the course completely when the demands of a career change with my ‘day job’ took over. I had to push myself to return to the course, but my love of writing was my motivator.
Has the Writers Bureau Home Study Course assisted me and would I recommend it to others? The answer is a definite yes, but only if you’re prepared to work at it. I know of people that enrolled on the course and never even got started. I have followed my tutor’s advice and it seems to be working for me – although a bit slowly, but I suppose that’s how it is when starting out. A few days ago, an editor called me to talk about an article that I recently submitted; hopefully this will be my fourth published piece.

Selection Of Nice Web Fonts: Handwritten Typefaces
Once the texts are put up on the page, the only typeface selection are the ones readily for the audience: sans or serif? And the choices are plain old boring ones. Wait! I correct myself, these fonts are made for the general audience. They are not boring or a cliche, it is just that you are limited to it in using to the contents so that anyone can access the texts and provide faster loading times. You may also consider converting the texts to images so that the preferred choice of fonts can be easily viewed to the web. Mostly these usages are commonly for the use on typographical layout of the page, and emphasizes the subject, mostly includes headers and titles. The next thing to do is the choice of fonts to be included in the designs.
Agent Orange
This is included with the ones that I liked. If you implementing some kind of handwritten designs, this font I suggest is worth using. Many used the simple-yet-unique designs on their layout particularly blog designs that create a personal feel.
Ashley
Another handwritten typeface for another personal feel. This is one cursive which unconsciously ordinary write most on any piece of paper.
Dad Hand
This is more kinda child-like design, mostly preferably on educational organization purposes. This appeals to the reader the sincere feeling of the subject.
Kaela
Kaela is something that somehow that disturbs-our-childhood feeling. This shows an inscription typography, usually written on the rocks or carved by the wood. Whatever you use it, its your choice.

Virginia College Online School Faculty Develops Unique Teaching Methods To Involve Students In Online Classes
As more and more students turn to the Internet to advance their education, instructors at Virginia College Online have developed some different ways to help students gain knowledge as they pursue their online degrees. And some of them really put the "distance" in distance learning!
For example, Dr. Ann Peterson, a faculty member in the online business programs, feels that it is important to communicate with students who may be anywhere in the world, and who may be completing assignments at any hour of the day or night.
"I use a .PDF file so students can check to see if they are completing their word processing assignments correctly," she says. "I've also built a grading rubric to tell students how assignments will be graded, why points came off, and how they could have made a higher score."
Dr. Peterson adds, "These are good ways to keep the communication open with students I don't usually get to see face-to-face."
That's the case as well with faculty member Claudine de Nava, who teaches online classes for Virginia College Online from her home in Mexico. Ms. De Nava is a fulltime English instructor there, after completing her master's of education degree in Atlanta. She was also a research assistant for NASA and one of her projects flew on a space shuttle mission in 1996. She enjoys writing and plans to do a book about living and working in Mexico.
Online MBA class instructor Susan Sasaidek has developed an innovative idea to keep her far-flung classes engaged and involved.
"For the group project in Management 441, I have created a scenario of a business located here in Tucson, Arizona," she says. "The mock business is facing some serious competition from a giant company moving in. The students are asked to provide ideas and suggestions on ways to turn things around for this small ‘mom and pop' shop to make it successful again. It's amazing to see them taking what they are learning in a small business class and applying it to this scenario."
In another of Ms. Sasaidek's classes, students learn how to put together a business plan. Each week the plan is built upon. By the end of the quarter the students not only have a complete business plan, they have a solid foundation to start the process to entrepreneurship should they choose to do so.
Ms. Sasaidek recently had her dissertation submitted for publication with Proquest.
Faculty members at Virginia College Online all emphasize the importance of one-on-one interaction with their students—whether they are in the same city or halfway around the world. They strive to assure that the online learning experience is as good as—or, using today's technology, even better than—traditional on-ground classes.

What is meant by NTFS file system?
Important operating systems like Windows NT, 2000 and XP is based on NTFS file system. The target for the development of file systems is to manage files, folders and manage all the information needed to access files on local or remote computers. Two versions NTFS has been released so far, NTFS 4.0 and NTFS 5.0. First NTFS version is compatible with Windows NT 4.0, while NTFS 5.0 with some new exciting features that support Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The most common features found in both are listed below
1. It supports Mac files
2. Help to compression of the files that are read and written, while the process is ongoing.
3. NTFS file system can recover files lost due to power failure or system of distribution.
Some of the salient features of NTFS 5.0 are as under:
1. You can encrypt or decrypt data when reading and write any file from your hard disk automatically.
2. NTFS 5.0 lets you write files in length, but only occupies the space required and necessary.
3. This version of NTFS file system is given with USN journal to keep track of all changes in the volume.
4. By using the facility provided by NTFS 5.0, administrators can limit the computer storage capacity of a specific volume.
Structure of NTFS file system
disk NTFS is divided into two parts, 12% of it constitutes by MFT not do to save anything and 88% is used for the purpose of storing files.
What is MFT?
All system components and information related to the operating system is considered as a file. The most important file of NTFS is the MFT (Master Table file) containing all the needed files from your system. This table is divided into a fixed-size records of 1 byte. These records refer to some files and first 16 files are directly related to the operating system and operating system can only access those files.
The first 16 files are named metafiles that are basically system files. These files are basically meant for some basic operating system functions. metafiles exist in the root directory of NTFS and only can be searched by the addition sign "$" at the beginning of the file. For example, to locate the log file is to write $ LogFile.

Working With Files in Linux: Kludges and Solutions
A year ago, I made the best and worst mistake of my life: I messed up my GRUB boot list, and didn't have the wherewithal to fix it. I was so frustrated, that I chose to abandon the Microsoft axis altogether. What would I do without the tools I used in Windows? I found myself relying on some very helpful roundups online. You know "The 5 best apps for this or that", and the like.
It turns out, after you read 50 or so Linux roundups that don't help you at all, you find one shining program( or solution )in the rough that takes care of your issues. Sometimes, you end up using a combination of programs together, with varying degrees of success. Then, you have the "kludge". This is a programming term that basically means " an inefficient, clumsy way to get the result you want". I have plenty of those, and have detailed a few of my favorites below.
I'm not saying that you will see much of a difference in the programs I suggest in this roundup. Depending on how new you are to the Linux scene, you might stumble onto something you aren't currently using. What I will offer are unique and occasionally "kludgey" solutions to get the job done.
PDF's: These gave me a real problem when I started using Linux full-time. Don't get me wrong, Linux has plenty of PDF readers/writers. When it came to editing them all, I hit a bit of a roadblock. I have to amend PDF's(photo and text-based) on a regular basis. So what are the solutions I found?
- PDFedit: This is okay, provided you are satisfied with having a one-shot edit. By that, I mean that you can access the document and change it, but it does not have an "undo" function. Hopefully, they will add this feature in future. You have to close the document in order to "undo" any changes. I only use this for highlighting text based PDF's. For image based PDF's I choose...
- GIMP(a kludgin' we will go): Yes, that's right. The venerated Photoshop replacement can edit text and image-based PDF's. There are several issues with this method, but I'll explain how to use it, should you be so inclined. The downfall of this method is that GIMP imports the PDF, whether Image or Text based as an Image. When it exports, it exports the file independently of the original as a PDF. That being said, it is a good solution for 1-3 page docs. All you have to do is create a new layer in Gimp, cover up the old information with a color( I use white, generally) and create a new text layer to replace the old data. Then export as a .jpg or .png (I generally use .jpg, but .gif works pretty well, should you need a smaller file size.)
Here comes the fun part: Now, you have to open up the other PDF pages in GIMP, and export them as a .jpg or whatever. Then, open up OpenOffice Draw. Insert the picture into the first slide. Insert another slide, insert pic. Repeat until done. Click "Export as PDF" button. Tada. Not fun. Or you can just write a PHP script to run on your Apache server, and use the PHP/PDF library to export your files as a single PDF(if you feel froggy, jump.) I hired someone to write a short script for me, and they were among the best dollars I have ever spent.
- Scribus: This is the most mature of the editing/publishing platforms out there. I have heard great things about its ability to edit PDF's. The only problem is, I cannot get it edit a single PDF. It tells me that my PDF's are not in an acceptable format. Should they fix this in a later release, this would be your best shot at a editing on a great platform. It just does not work with PDF's generated in OpenOffice, or anywhere else for that matter.
- Xournal or Gournal: Xournal is the better of the two. They are both lightweight PDF annotators/editors. They do not work well with Image based PDF's. They do an admirable job when dealing with text based PDF's.
Let's move on to picture formats, and photo management systems. Man, have I ever had a problem with these. This mostly has to do with the frequent inability of Linux programs to understand layers, as they relate to Adobe based products.
The following programs allow you to view, and even batch process photos. These are the ones that will save you more time than any other.
- Phatch: The single greatest contribution to Open Source photo editing since GIMP. Phatch allows you to quickly and easily batch edit thousands of files at the time. A simple GUI makes this a snap. Resize, change file quality parameters,rename, rotate, drop shadow, etc., without ever seeing the command line.
- Inkscape: A vector editor that comes close to accurately opening .ai and layered .eps files. I say, comes close, because it picks and chooses which of these files it interprets. It's Russian Roulette. I wouldn't pay for a vector graphics package based on its performance, unless it gives you the file in .svg, which it interprets without a problem.
- GIMP: Okay, if you don't know already, GIMP is the app that started it all. You can open up pretty much anything in GIMP. It just works. There are enough scripts and tutorials out there that enable you to do anything you want with an image. Its batch processing abilities are not nearly as good as Phatch, but you can add "Dave's Batch Processor" should you feel the urge.
(For all of you who say "Well, you can use Adobe products with WINE.", let me remind you that I am not dual-booting MS and Linux. To speak of a solution using WINE would nullify the point of this article.)
Ok, now that I am done with programs, I'd like to share with you some websites that help you convert files into usable formats. You know the ones, the primarily brilliant spawn of Microsoft that are a pain to open: .docx, .xlsx, .pub, and anything else you need decoded on the fly.
(It should be noted that current Linux versions of OpenOffice will open .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx locally. Windows versions of the program do not support these files as of yet.) These are for when you are on the go, or using a machine that isn't owned by you. You could always carry a custom distro on your keychain, but my guess is you are not that hardcore yet. If you are, you have probably discovered or coded far better solutions than I am offering.
- k2pdf.com : This will take .rtf, .txt, .doc, .eps, .docx, .mdi, .tif, and a few other formats, and convert them into a usable, viewable PDF for you.
- pdfonline.com- Should you need the document editable in word, head over here to convert your PDF to a standard MS Word file. The only reason that you would possibly need this, is to edit tables from an .xlsx to PDF conversion. Still, a reasonably decent kludge.
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_onlinetools.html- Yup. Adobe offers to convert your PDF to HTML for you here. You take the help where you can get it. Then you can paste the HTML into OpenOffice and save as .doc (or preferably, an .odt.) Again, not the greatest solution, but one that works.
The Linux community is doing an admirable job of making file formats accessible. Hopefully, in the near future, an open standard will overtake these proprietary formats. In the meantime, I hope some of these patched together solutions will help you get the job.

Jingles for Branding and Commercials
Today as radio comes out a great place for advertisement and promoting your products. Companies spent lot of money to promoter their products. Jingles are the only way on the radio to promote your products. The jingle had no definitive debut: its infiltration of the radio was more of an evolutionary process than a sudden innovation. Product advertisements with a musical tilt can be traced back to 1923, around the same time commercial radio came to the public.
We always give least importance to radio advertising but from a research it has been proved that radio ads are among the strongest medium that can sell things. In the harsh realities of today's marketplace a great ad jingle can be a surefire way to crank your service and slogan to a wider audience and get your company some respect. So, what makes an advertising jingle unique? Before you lay down your valuable funds to an established jingle production company (or even to your brother Doug's grunge band) there are many ideas you should carefully research in order to make your new advertising music as effective as it's ever going to be.
A Good jingle should have the following qualities.

- Branding is key: plan on beginning your new advertising endeavor with a full vocal edit of your jingle and then use a different version once your jingle has been in the marketplace long enough to stick in your potential customers' heads.
- The jingles are usually composed by professionals. Since jingles are important components of the ad campaign, a lot of care is taken to ensure that only a very high quality advertising jingle is produced.
- Be on alert with jingle makers that charge renewal fees. A good jingle can have a years-long shelf life, so look for a company that can provide full buyouts, or long-term licensing contracts.
- It's not suitable just to demand that your jingle be "modern." Contemplate where you will be advertising. Ask yourself: will your easy listening style jingle find its target audience if used in a AOR format? Contemplate your music style options carefully.
The key to successful branding is really in your own hands. Wal-Mart didn't get to be the powerhouse we know today because of a smiley-face. It was because Sam Walton jumped in his truck every morning and set out to find the best deals on anything he could and used all his disposable resources to make his branding efforts true in the eyes of the consumers. Therefore it's your job as a manager/ business owner to engrain this message into the minds of your customers. The team members in your organization also play a critical role in developing your brand because once you have marketed yourself as the leader in one aspect of your business; you must make everyone within your organization believe it first. This may not be as easy as it sounds. You must constantly remind all members of the organization that you are all collectively the best and the only way to do that is by being honest in your branding. BE the best and everyone will know it.
